I like the book Speak I think it's pretty interesting and I really want to know what happened over the summer when she called the police but they haven't told us yet. Also, I want to know what will happen with all of her friends and if they will forgive her for what happened. I do have a question about it though, it keeps talking about this dream she has and where she's walking down the hall and she sees "IT". I really want to know what IT is, is it a person or something? I don't like how they keep talking about that dream though it's just kind of boring and I don't really see what it has to do with the plot. Also I don't really like any of the characters so far, they are really interesting but also all of them are kind of annoying and hard to relate to. But i still really like the book and want the find out what happens next.

Over spring break I mostly just stayed in Iowa. And I went over the my friend Zoe's house and my other friend Zoe's house. My dad came back from Egypt for the week so I got to hang out with him a lot. My extended family also came in so I got to see all of them too. My aunt also had a baby recently so I got to meet him. They named him Jason and he's so cute.
We also went to the mall of america for a few days and I got some new clothes and went on some of the rides with my older brother Sean so that was really fun In The Boy in the Striped Pajamas Bruno is a 8 year old boy with dark hair and blue eyes who is very adventurous. He doesn't really understand whats going on around him and for a lot of the movie he doesn't understand why everyone hates the Jews. He is very conflicted because he loves his dad but once he finds out what he and the other soldiers are doing he disagrees and thinks that his father might be a bad person.
I learned a lot in this unit I didn't really know what it was like inside the camps or what kind of work they had to do. I didn't know that they had other Jewish inmates running parts of the camp or in charge of gas chambers. I also didn't know that there were 2 different types of camps. I liked The Boy in the Striped Pajamas more then Night because the characters were easier to connect with and it was easier to imagine what it was like watching people act it out. Tough Questions pg. 82 He and his father have to decide if they want to stay at the camp in the infirmary or go and evacuate. This is a tough question because they don't know if they will be liberated or killed by the SS if they stay. But if the go Eliezer's foot is not better so the journey will be hard and even is they do make it they will have to stay in the camps. This question makes me wonder what I would do in this situation and what will happen to the people who do stay in the infirmary. Words of the wiser pg. 110 His father is very sick and another inmate tells him that the doctor can not help and neither can he. He tells him to stop giving his father his ration of food because it won't help his dad and it will only hurt himself. The lesson from this is that there is a point where you have to let go and realize that there is nothing more you can do. It affected him by helping him realize that he cannot help his dad and that he is hurting himself. memory moment pg. 100 years later he's on a ship and he sees a woman throwing coins to the Natives and after seeing two kids trying to strangle each other over one he asks her to stop and she replies "No, I like to give to charity." This memory is important because even all those years later in was very similar to what happened then it also shows that sometimes giving can hurt people more the it helps them. If I were the President of the United States my top 3 priorities would be making sure everyone has equal rights, make collage cheaper,
If I were the POTUS I would make sure everyone has equal rights. A lot of people are treated really unfairly because of their gender, race, religion, ect. This is important because everyone deserves to have the same advantages and it's unfair to have one person be payed less for equal work because of their gender or anything else. I would also make collage cheaper. It's really hard for some people to afford and sometimes they have to take out loans that take years to pay back so hopefully this would make it so you might not have to pay back as much.. I would make really rich people pay a little more for taxes because they can afford it. Then people could go to collage easier and not have to worry as much about not being able to afford it And Over winter break I went on vacation with my family to Europe. Me, my sister, my mom, my two brothers, and my cousin all went and met up with my dad in Paris. It was amazing we got to see the whole city and we went up to the top of the Eiffel tower. It was really cold at the top but still really cool. On Christmas we ate spaghetti and opened presents I mostly got clothes and gift cards. After Paris we went to Ireland because that's where my mom grew up. That was really fun because I got to see all of my cousins and friends there.
Overall my winter break was pretty great. This article told about 8 skills that you should know by the time you're 18. They were to be able to, talk to strangers, find you're way around campus, manage your assignments, contribute to the running of a household, handle interpersonal problems, cope with ups and downs, earn and manage money, and to take risks
I think that these are very reasonable things to ask an 18 year old to be able to do because in the end it's all for their benifit and they aren't very hard. I feel like I can already do some of these like talking to strangers, finding my was aroud, managing my assignments, and kind of conntribute to the running of a household. I need to work on managing money because when ever I do earn money from babysitting I spend it all right away. But I do think that these skills are very important for anyone to have. A rule at school that I don't like is the tardy policy. You have to have detentions or go to tardy school after not even getting very many tardys. I think it's unfair because as kids who can't drive we don't really control what time we leave the house and get to school at. We get punished even though we have very little control over if we're late to school. I would replace that rule by only making tardys after first period count. That way we don't get blamed for our older siblings or parents being slow to get out of the house. First I am thankful for my friends they're the best and I love them all so much. They're always there for me when I'm upset and always manage to make me feel better even on my worst day. I honestly have no idea what I would do without them.
I'm also thankful for my family. My mom and dad, my older sister, and my two older brothers. When my older siblings aren't being annoying they're pretty great and I am really thankful for all the times my older brothers will drive me places or get me food. I'm also really thankful for my parents for buying food, cleaning, giving me rides places, and a million other things. I don't know what I would do with out them. I'm so thankful for everything I have and everyone in my life. My thoughts on the presidential election are that I'm confused on how on earth did Donald Trump win and I'm angry because now we have a total idiot as a president. I don't want to grow up in a country where our president has no respect for anyone who isn't a straight white male. The fact that he has no respect for woman is one of the many things I hate about him. He doesn't think that woman are anything more then how they look and that because he's rich and famous he can do what ever he wants to them. Donald Trump has sexually assaulted several woman and that is not okay. He doesn't think that its okay to be gay, bi, trans, or anything else and I find that horrible because I believe that everyone should be accepted and loved for how they are and not told that it's wrong.
